What is Navisworks?
Use Navisworks® review and coordination software to improve BIM (Building Information Modeling) project delivery.
- Visualize and unify design and construction data within a single federated model.
- Identify and resolve clash and interference problems before construction begins, saving time onsite and in rework.
- Keep project teams collaborating and connected with Navisworks issues integration in the Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Features of Navisworks 2023
Navisworks® Simulate and Manage software help teams deliver projects effectively. Navisworks Manage includes clash detection and interference management tools plus the core capabilities of Navisworks Simulate for model review, quantification, and coordination.
Coordination:
Overview of Clash Detective Tool:
The Clash Detective tool enables effective identification, inspection, and reporting of interferences (clashes) in a 3D project model.
Using Clash Detective can help you to reduce the risk of human error during model inspections.
Clash Detective can be used as a one-off “sanity check” for a completed design work, or it can be used as an ongoing audit check of the project. You can use Clash Detective to conduct clash tests between traditional 3D geometry (triangles), and laser-scanned point clouds.
You can combine the Clash Detective functionality with other Autodesk Navisworks tools:
- Linking Clash Detective and Object Animation together gives you the ability to automatically check interferences between moving objects. For example, linking a Clash Detective test to an existing animation scene would automatically highlight clashes for both static and moving objects during the animation, for example, a crane rotating through the top of a building, a delivery lorry colliding with a workgroup, and so on.
- Linking Clash Detective and TimeLiner together enables the time-based clash checks on the project. See Use TimeLiner for Time-Based Clashing for further details on time-based clashing.
- Linking together Clash Detective, TimeLiner, and Object Animation enables clash testing of fully animated TimeLiner schedules.

Navisworks Coordination Issues Add-In
Open models, group clashes, and work with issues on models from Model Coordination, in both Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360-based projects, directly in Navisworks using the Navisworks Coordination Issues Add-in.
Note: For BIM 360 projects, models must be stored in the Project Files folder in the BIM 360 Document Management module. For Autodesk Construction Cloud projects, models must be stored in Autodesk Docs. To use the add-in to access the models, the models must also be included in a coordination space in Model Coordination.
If you aren’t already signed in, when you click options on the Coordination tab in Navisworks, or try to open a model from BIM 360 or Autodesk Docs via Desktop Connector, you will be asked to sign in to your Autodesk account using your Autodesk ID. This automatically gives you access to all the projects that you’re a member of.
Note: Accessing Model Coordination data using the add-in is only supported for Navisworks 2020 and later. In Navisworks 2019, you can work with issues by opening models via Desktop Connector.
